Chapter 32

The lights shut offin the breakroom of The Fire Ring. Heather screamed. Lizzy held still so not to bump into any of the other women. Someone grabbed her arm.

"Peer! We're still here," yelled Lizzy.

The bar had only closed five minutes ago, and all the female employees had hurried to the breakroom to grab their belongings. Slag Motorcycle Club was having a party tonight, and she was anxious to see Roar.

The lights came on. "Sorry."

"Someone is in a hurry to get out of here." Monica laughed, taking off her apron and hanging it in her cabinet. "Are you guys coming to the party?"

Coco let go of Lizzy's arm. "I am."

"Yep, me, too." Lizzy unbound her hair and bent at the waist, shaking out the strands. "Though I should go home and take a shower first. I can't believe I spilled a tray of drinks down the front of me."

"Every one of us has made a colossal mess at one point or another. You were due." Coco put lipstick on. "Well, I'm as ready as I'll get."

Lizzy changed her shirt. "I'm ready, too."

"All right, ladies." Heather danced toward the door. "Let's go have someone serve us a drink instead of waiting on everyone else."

Lizzy linked arms with Coco and Monica. Used to going home and falling asleep, she hoped to stay up for a couple of hours to spend time with Roar around his club without losing what little energy she had left.

Though the rush of excitement over seeing him had her wide awake at the moment. She couldn't wait to get her hands on him.

In the alley, she broke away from the others when she spotted Roar waiting for her. She hurried toward him and went into his waiting arms.

Burying her face underneath his jaw in his beard, she inhaled deeply. "Mm, you smell good."

Fresh air, leather, and her man.

She slipped her hands underneath his vest and ran her hands down his sides. He was a powerhouse.

"Feel good, too," she said

His chest rumbled in amusement. "You get goofy when you're tired, sleepy girl."

"I have something to tell you." She lifted her head and smiled.

"What?"

"I was waiting for a special moment, but I can't wait any longer. It's been driving me nuts not to say anything, and it's all I can think about." She raised on her tiptoes and kissed him

"Lizzy." He inhaled deeply, holding her tighter.

Pulling her head back to look I into his eyes, she whispered, "I'm in love with you."

"It's about time."

She nodded. "Completely."

"Full up?" He grinned.

She smoothed his beard, needing to see the whole smile. "Full up."

"Nice." He kissed her lightly. " It's about time. I loved you when I gave you the jacket."

"I didn't know," she whispered.
