"Rune," shouted Roar, motioning him forward.
Without Rune, they would never have been able to get their hands on the prize. A genius locksmith, Rune had never met a lock, safe, keypad, he couldn't get through.
"How much?" he asked.
Brage set piles of bundled cash to the side. Then he counted the other stacks Aron set out. "By my estimation, over thirty grand."
His smile came slowly as the cheer went up. They'd set out to take twenty thousand off Bantorus but visiting the body shop they used as a cover for the chop shop while it was closed on a Sunday had paid off. The profits came from the chopped vehicles that'd been picked up the day before. Bantorus had no way to hide the money yet, and he counted on them wanting to keep the illegal business away from Cactus Cove, much like he kept The Fire Ring as a cover for Slag's activities.
"Take half and send the rest up with Joel and Elling. They'll leave tonight for Seattle. I'll need a crew of twenty to ride with them. The rest goes in the pot for Slag." Knowing his orders would be followed, he lifted his hand. "The rest of you can celebrate."
He walked away. After he cleaned up from the ride, he had something else important to do. Lizzy was at home, and he planned on bringing her over to the clubhouse. This time, he'd convince Coco to come with her. The only way she was going to get comfortable within Slag is if she spent more time around his men, around him, and he counted on Coco to help her relax enough she opened her heart and mind to how he lived.
