She stared at him touching her. Her pulse roared in her ears. She should pull away. He was her boss.

Her stomach quivered. She looked up and found him looking at her arm.

"W-was that all that you wanted to talk about?" she whispered.

"Ah, Lizzy girl, there is a lot I'd like to talk about, but you're tired." He inhaled deeply and straightened, his hand leaving her body.

She turned and finished her drink, needing something to distract her. It was on the tip of her tongue to tell him she could stay longer. There was nowhere else she'd rather be than with him.

He put the bottles back on the shelf and walked to the end of the counter. "I'll walk you home."

She slid off the stool. The drinks made tonight seem like a dream. If he weren't the owner of the bar, she'd almost believe he was flirting with her.

Hooking her purse over her shoulder, she went with him to the front door and stepped out on the sidewalk. The night air gave her a chill. She wrapped her arms around her middle and yawned.

He put his hand on her lower back, checking for traffic, and then crossed the street with her.

"You'll sleep deeply tonight." He glanced at her and grinned. "You're a lightweight."

She stepped up on the curb. "What about you?"

"Am I a lightweight?" He chuckled.

Matching his steps, she said, "No, are you going to sleep well tonight?"

"Probably not," he muttered, stopping in front of the house.

The door opened, and Coco appeared. She smiled at Roar and went inside without finding out why he'd have trouble sleeping.

Wanting to go over everything that had happened with Roar, she told Coco good night and went up to her room. Could he possibly want her or was her attraction to him coloring her vision?
