Chapter Twelve
Kat watched Brynn laugh up into the rain. Her skin glistened, slick and beautiful in the glow of the streetlight. Kat grew breathless once again, her insides ready to burst and fill her with yearning, desire, hunger, needs she desperately wanted to feed.
She tugged her closer and led them to her car. She opened the passenger door and Brynn caught her with an arm around the neck. She kissed her, and Kat fell into the feel of the cold rain layered against Brynn’s hot skin. They melded together, and Kat pushed into her with her tongue, once, twice, three times. She groaned as her clit began to demand more and she forced herself away, too excited to continue.
“Let’s go,” she said, touching Brynn’s face. She could see the streetlight reflected in her gaze. The light was sparking, striking to life, breathing with desire. Kat could’ve stared into it for hours.
Brynn grinned and Kat wanted to kiss her, but instead she rounded the car and climbed in to start the engine. Brynn glanced over at her as they fled the parking lot. “Where are you taking me, Sergeant Vander?” She reached over and toyed with the back of her neck. It caused shivers to run right through her. Brynn still had the grin, and if Kat could bottle that look, that image of her seducing her from the passenger seat of her car, she’d die a happy woman.
“To a hotel.” It took all she had to refocus on the road. She wiped rain from her face and stared through the windshield wipers. Brynn continued to tease the back of her neck with nimble fingers. “I, uh, reserved one for tonight.”
“Thought you’d get lucky did you?”
Kat laughed. “I’d hoped, didn’t you?”
“I did. But I never could’ve imagined this.”
Kat gave her a glance. “I’d imagined it plenty. I just never thought it would happen.”
Brynn looked away and her fingers stopped their teasing. Kat worried for a split second that something was wrong, but just as quickly, Brynn reassured her.
“You imagined it?” Her fingers moved to her jaw where they traced lightly.
Kat swallowed hard. “Oh yeah.”
“Was I wearing black lace?” She retracted her hand. “Like this?”
Kat looked over and saw her unbutton her lavender shirt and run her fingers along the edges of a see-through black lace bra.
Kat breathed deeply. “No, but you will from now on.” She gripped the steering wheel and inwardly swore at the red light. The hotel seemed to be a million miles away.
Brynn laughed. “You really think about me like this?”
Kat heated. “Yes.”
“I do too,” Brynn said softly. “For a while now.” She reached over, took Kat’s hand, kissed it, lightly breathed upon her palm, and then snuck out her tongue to run along her inner wrist.
“Brynn, you better stop. We won’t make it.”
“Drive faster.”
“Christ, I am.”
“Faster.” Brynn took her finger in her mouth and sucked.
Kat sped up and fought closing her eyes in sheer pleasure. Her toes curled in her shoes, and she clenched her legs together as her clit awoke once again. Up ahead, the hotel came into view and the tires squealed as she slammed on the brakes and took the turn-in too fast. But she didn’t care and Brynn only laughed. She pulled her hand away, parked, and killed the engine.
They sat in silence. Kat fought for breath. “That was evil,” she said.
“I told you I could be a little wild sometimes.”
Kat smiled. “I can believe it.”
Brynn buttoned up her shirt. “You gonna take me inside, Sergeant?”
Kat studied her slender fingers working the buttons. Studied the slick wet skin of her neck and face. Honed in on her dark lips and electrifying eyes. Her cheeks were tainted red atop her high cheekbones. A raindrop fell from a strand of hair onto her face, and she brushed it aside in a move that left Kat breathless.
“I am,” Kat finally said. She threw open her door and met Brynn at the back of the car. She took her hand and hustled them inside. They jogged to the elevator, soaking wet, ignoring the glances from curious onlookers.
