“I’m gonna go back in for another round in a minute. Wanna come?”

Desperately.

“Nah, I’m good.” I force a casual tone and sit forward, propping my arms on my knees. Now’s not exactly a good time to stand. I run a hand down my beard and stare out over the water, trying to control my thoughts.

“Suit yourself.” Ada turns in front of me, giving me a view of her ass through her soaked bikini bottoms. “Renee?”

“Nope, I’m not a masochist,” Renee intones, digging a magazine out of her bag. “Y’all are crazy.”

“Marcus?”

He shakes his head. “Maybe later. I’m too comfy.”

Ada drops her towel, heading to the edge of the dock. As she walks away, my gaze drags along behind her, locked on her incredible ass. When she jumps back in, the sound of the splash jolts me back to reality.

Jesus.

I think I might implode if I have to wait much longer to be alone with her.

“I think we did okay,” I say, staring at the slope of Ada’s neck, wishing I could bite it.

She fishes her keys out at our front door and glances at me over her shoulder. “Yeah, I don’t think they… noticed anything.”

I hum softly in agreement. “Tell you what I fucking noticed, though,” I say, stepping a little closer and dropping my voice low. “I noticed how badly I wanna fuck you the minute we get inside this door.”

Keeping my hands to myself for the drive home had been nearly impossible, and I’d found myself impatiently cursing every red light. It’s all I can do now not to grab her ass out here in the open.

“Oh?” She laughs, twisting the key in the lock.

“So, what’d Katie say when you told her?”

Her hand pauses on the door handle and she turns around to face me, one brow raised. “What makes you think I told her?”

With a knowing look, I reach past her to pull the keys out. We both know the best friend code overrides any promise to keep this between us.

Well, except in my case.

She hesitates only a moment longer before coming clean. “Okay, well, let’s just say I don’t think I’ve heard a cackle quite that loud before. She was practically feral for the details.”

I laugh through a cringe. “You shared details?”

“Oh, yeah.” She gives me a sober nod.

I shake my head. “Remind me to avoid eye contact with Katie for the foreseeable future, then.”

“Don’t worry, I painted a very favorable picture of the uh…”—she slides her gaze down my body—“details.”

There’s a muffled clink of keys as I clench my hands into fists at my sides.

Oh, God, please just open the door.

“Oh, and Jess?” She tilts her head.

“Mmm?” My impatience is getting the better of me and my heart is already racing as I think about all the things I’m going to do to her.

“Before we go in…” She trails off, her voice flirtatious.

She’s got my fucking attention. “What?”
