“Or kill her.” Alec says.
Jared’s eyes tighten, a blink of anger pinches his face before it disappears. The tension in the room feels as if I’m walking on a wire, balancing by holding my breath. Jared grabs my upper arm, yanking me up to follow him as I stumble to keep my footing while being dragged through the kitchen and out the same way he went earlier. The heat of his hand gripping my arm is distracting as I try to commit the house to memory, planning an escape.
Pictures line the walls, images capturing everyone in the house over the years, and a pang of longing rocks me as I get a glimpse of the happiness they all share. Jared yanks me to the only door, pulling a key from his pocket to unlock it before guiding me into a dark room. The door clicks shut, plunging us into darkness and my hand clings to his shirt, grounding me in the disorienting space.
“Jared.” I hiss when he tries to step away, fear wavering my voice. He lets go of my arm and my body shivers from the loss of contact until a strong hand grips my hip and yanks me to his side. A soft click makes me peel my eyes open, a breath I was holding leaving my lungs in a sigh when I see light bathing the large room.
“Scared of the dark?” His deep voice rumbles as I look up to meet the pity in his gaze. Reality crashes around me as his comfort turns cold and I yank away. I don’t need anyone’s sympathy. I turn and take in the surroundings, ignoring him altogether. Jared grunts and brushes past me while I look around the small living room. The place is spotless and devoid of anything personal that would show hints of who lives here. A black sectional sits in the corner, facing a large flat screen tv that is mounted onto the wall above a small bookshelf that is mostly empty.
Jared throws open the thick curtains that were blocking out the daylight, giving me an even better view of the area. Two black doors that match the one we came through sit on the wall across from me and curiosity pulls me towards them.
“The windows each have custom locks on them, so there’s no way you can get out before I catch you.” Jared says. I roll my eyes even though my back is to him as I open the first door.
“Sounds like a safety hazard.” I mutter as I push open one door and flip on the light to look around the massive bathroom. The shower takes up the entire wall. Each end has its own shower head and a rainfall one in the ceiling above it, making my brow quirk up at all the excessive black marble.
“His and her shower? Your girlfriend gonna get jealous you brought me here?” I taunt him, envy burning in my throat when I turn to bump into his broad chest. His hand shoots out to catch me, keeping me from stumbling into the doorframe.
“Would you be jealous, Lunatic?” His voice hums as he leans closer to me. I cross my arms, trying to act as casual as I can while his scent washes through my senses and an ache stirs between my thighs. My eyes squint at him as I bristle at his stupid nickname for me, and for a moment, I consider attacking him.
Jared’s hand circles my throat, yanking my body flush to his as my eyes widen in shock at his possessive grip.
“You’re the first woman I’ve considered letting stay in my home. Don’t make me regret it.” He says before dropping his hold reluctantly and waving a hand for me to continue snooping. My mind reels as I force my feet to walk past him and open the next door. He was screwing with my head and I was melting into his palms. Don’t mind me, just browsing my sexy kidnappers home as if I’m a guest.
The second door swings open and once again Jared presses his body against mine, forcing me to bend forward while he reaches in to flip the light on. I shake myself off as I step away from him, prying my dirty mind away from where it keeps turning. Just for my eyes to land on his massive bed.
It was a California king, the sheets all black with matching pillows. The dark wood bed frame made me cover my gasp with a cough when I notice the rings embedded in the head and footboards. I glance back to lock eyes with Jared, his smirk hot as sin, while his gaze traces over my body. It felt as if my skin was reaching a temperature high enough that my panties were melting. I need to control myself and stop the thoughts of being tied to the bed while Jared stands over me.
He steps up to me, tilting his head and nodding towards the bed.
“You’ll stay here until you tell me what I need to know. Where I go, you go. You will ask permission to do anything. Understand?” He asks, standing chest to chest with me. I smirk, praying he can’t hear my heart pounding loud in my chest.
“Whatever you say, daddy.” I taunt, brushing past him. Jared’s body goes rigid as his hand snaps out to grip my arm and pull me back to stand with my shoulder to his chest.
“Watch what you say, Luna.” His voice is lethal, full of promise and lust. My pulse races as I struggle to use my mouth to form words, but nothing comes out. His face turns cold and distant once more when he shakes himself and pulls away from me, turning to leave without saying anything else. I wrap my arms around myself as I drop back to sit on the edge of the bed, trying to talk myself down from the ledge he’s forced me onto.
Do I fall or run?
Chapter 6- Jared
I am playing with fucking fire and watching it burn me each time I allow myself to touch her. She was the reason I failed to kill Steffen and protect this family, I remind myself as I pace through the small kitchen that is open to the living room. The bedroom door clicks shut and guilt grips at my throat from how I keep whip lashing this poor woman. She was literally stalking me. Why am I now the one obsessed with her?
My hands clench as I imagine gripping her thick hips, lifting her up to crush our lips together. A thump from the bedroom makes me tilt my head, breaking the dangerous train of thoughts that makes my dick so hard it hurts. I hear her softly curse as I silently walk over to press my ear to the door. I can hear her yanking at the window, the glass rattling as she fights to pry it open.
She was playing a dangerous game with my thinning patience. Maybe it was time to teach her. I swing the door open, not bothering to be quiet as I stomp right up to where she leans casually against the window. I watch her cleavage bounce as she fights to calm her breathing. A thin sheen of sweat covers her forehead as she nods towards the glass.
“It is really beautiful out there, all those flowers and shit.” She says, her eyes racing around while she panics at being caught. There were no flowers in the dead of winter with a blanket of snow covering everything. I lean down, putting my lips next to her ear as I do.
“You don’t listen. Bad girls who don’t listen, get punished.” I murmur, watching goosebumps cover her neck and chest as she swallows hard. Without warning, I grab her, throwing her over my shoulder and slamming her onto the bed. She lets out a cry of surprise as I yank open the nightstand, pulling out a soft rope that I use to bind each wrist and ankle to the metal hoops she had noticed earlier.
“I wasn’t doing anything!” Luna shouts, yanking and fighting, but I’m too strong and fast for her to break loose. I step back, smirking at my handiwork as she lays in the bed, arms and legs spread while her eyes strangle me with rage.
“Keep lying, Lunatic. It only pisses me off more.” I say. Luna drops her head back, staring up at the ceiling as she twists her wrists in annoyance. I slowly roll my sleeves up, while she watches me pace beside her before I leave the room again. I take my time getting a glass full of ice from the freezer and walk back in with a wicked grin as she stares at me.
“What are you doing? Gonna rip my nails out and burn me with a hot iron?” Her tone is mocking, but I can hear the twist of fear. It makes me frown as I shake my head and step next to her and brush a strand of hair from her cheek.
“I wouldn’t hurt you like that.”
That wasn’t a lie, but this wouldn’t be pleasant. I reach into the cup and pull an ice cube out. She eyes it suspiciously as I hover my hand above her chest.
