Page 48 of Jared's Redemption

I take a soft step forward, the dark wood floors making my step echo in the empty house. Jared’s dark chuckle stops me as I step onto the stairs, my hand resting on the banister as I twist to look at him. He’s wearing the skull mask again, muscular arms crossed over his now bare chest as he tilts his head. The sight alone is enough to nearly bring me to my knees.

“You’re making this so easy, Luna.” He says, watching as I stumble backwards up the stairs.

“Shit.” I curse under my breath, watching him pull a knife from a hilt on his hip. I flee up the stairs, my footsteps deafening in the dark house. I do not know what the layout of this house is, so I’m already at a disadvantage and he will hear my every step. Thinking quick, I kick my shoes off in a hurry, my socks slipping over the floors as I slide and run to my left. The hallway has three doors, each of them open. The first one is a bathroom and the next two doors are both bedrooms.

“Luna,” His voice carries, followed by soft footfalls. Without many options, I pick at random and duck into the first bedroom. These rooms are furnished thankfully, giving me a few options for hiding. A queen size bed sits against the far wall, and I dive under it. I curse my thick stature as I struggle to wiggle into the tight space, praying there are no creepy crawlies hiding with me. I twist, turning so my feet are against the wall and I can watch the doorway.

Jared takes his time, climbing the stairs leisurely, humming under his breath. Asshole. I hold my breath when he stops, laughing at the sight of my shoes scattered hazardously. He passes the bathroom, and I can see his shoes stop in the doorway. My heart pounds in my ears, excitement and fear pulsing through my body.

After what feels like minutes, but was only seconds, Jared turns and walks towards the other bedroom. Shuffling in the room tells me I can stay here and be found, or I can get up and make a run for it. I drag myself out from under the bed, yanking my socks off as I run for the door.

“Found you.” Jared is standing just outside the door frame, reaching for me. A panicked squeak slips from my lips when I scarcely duck out of his reach. Scrambling for the stairs, I nearly make it when I twist my ankle. My body pitches forward, and I don’t have time to react. Jared’s forearm wraps around my torso, slamming my back to his chest as he grunts in annoyance.

“Throwing yourself down the stairs to get away from me, Lunatic?” He asks, his voice full of desire. I swallow hard, my mouth opens but words don’t come. Jared laughs, dragging me back towards the hallway.

Chapter 36- Luna

Pride flares up and I refuse to give in so easily. When we step through the threshold of the second bedroom, I drive my elbow back with as much force as I can muster. It lands into Jared’s ribs and he grunts from the impact, loosening his grip enough for me to twist out and run for the stairs. This time I’m careful, slowing enough to not fall to my death.

When I make it to the bottom, I turn and look over my shoulder to see Jared flipping the knife while casually leaning against the banister.

“Keep running, Lunatic. You’ll have to learn the layout of our house eventually.” He calls, his tone taunting. My steps stagger as I come to a halt, twisting my entire body to face him. Shock makes my mind slip as he slowly steps down the stairs, nodding his head in the deepening shadows.

“Our house?” I ask, taking a step back each time he steps towards me. Which fails since his strides are easily two of my own. The glint of moonlight flashes over his mask, showing the look of a hunter cornering his prey in his eyes.

He flips the knife, catching it with two hurried steps forward. The tip of the blade points to my throat. The cold metal is a breath away from piercing my skin. I tilt my chin up, locking eyes with him. My hand is steady as my fingers brush the hard plastic, pushing the mask away and letting it clatter to the floor.

The scrape of his stubble against my palm, the sound of the knife being tossed to the ground, and the smell of his cologne all collide within me. Jared’s mouth descends on me, devouring mine as he slams my back against the wall. A whimper escapes me as I wrap my arms tight around his neck. Our bodies fit together as if this was what we were made for.

“Our home, Luna. You are my redemption.” He utters the words against my lips, and I devour them. Breathe them into my very being. Jared grabs my thighs, lifting me off the ground to carry me towards the main room. He breaks the kiss long enough to grab a sleeping bag from the corner of the room, flicking his hand to unroll it. He lays me down and I snort a laugh, making him give me a curious look.

“Something funny?” He asks, trailing kisses down my neck.

“You have a perfectly good bed upstairs. Have you been sleeping on this?” I ask. He chuckles, gripping the collar of my shirt and ripping it down the middle.

“The first time I sleep in that bed, it will be with you in my arms.” He says, his kisses moving down to trail over the swell of my breasts. Jared grips the front clasp of my bra with his teeth, yanking it apart.

“That was too hot.” I mutter, eyes wide. He smirks at me, biting my nipple and sucking hard while pinching the other. My breath leaves in a soft gasp. Jared grips the top of my pants and yanks them off, along with my panties. The moonlight streaming through the window shines down on where I lay, shyness creeps in from the way he looks down at me.

“Stay with me, Luna. Build a life with me.” His voice is vulnerable as he watches me with bated breath. I wrap my arms around his neck, pulling his body against mine.

“Take your pants off, Biggums. Show me what I get to look forward to for the rest of my life.” I say, dragging my tongue over his lips. Jared wastes no time kicking free of his pants and boxers.

My hands brush over his body, touching every scar, every memory of what has made him who he is tonight.

Mine. His kisses turn from slow and patient to possessive when I hook my leg around his hip and Jared presses his thick length against me. He pulls away, just enough to stare down at me with an expression so full of love it threatens to tear me apart right then and there. Jared holds me together when he grabs my hips and drives deep inside of me.

My breath leaves my lungs in a gasp, my nails digging into his arms as I cling to him as my anchor. Jared slams into me, over and over, as he drives me towards the edge. He grabs both my hands in one of his, pinning them above my head while he keeps up the brutal pace.

“Oh God, Jared.” I cry out, my body arching as he reaches between our body to swirl his finger around my clit.

“You feel so good wrapped around my cock. So fucking wet for me.” Jared’s deep gravelly voice is all I can take. My orgasm washes over me, drawing his name from my lips again and again. Before it can subside, Jared flips me onto my hands and knees, grabbing my hips to slam himself back inside of me.

“I’m not done with you, Luna.” He says, reaching around my body to strum my clit once again. Feeling his erratic thrusts slamming my body forward while he keeps his bruising grip on my hips here on the floor of our home makes my heart flutter. The erotic sound of our bodies slapping together echoes around us, my panted cries and his deep grunts drowning it out.

“You belong to me, just as I belong to you.” He says, his hands sliding up my back to my shoulders. He shoves down, forcing my chest and cheek to the floor as he adjusts my body. Jared grips my ass in both hands, spreading my cheeks as he slides slowly in and out of me.

“I love you.” The words slip from my lips as he drags my body torturously slow towards another orgasm. His movements falter and a cold dread washes over me until he leans his body over mine, his arms caging me in as I lay still.
