“Don’t say anything,” Rayna said.

Maggie paused and looked up. “Huh?”

“It’s not words that will convince him. It’s actions. You need to show him you’ll always be there.”

“Okay. I wasn’t planning on giving up.”

“Good. Just make sure he knows you want to be more than friends, though. Or he’ll construe your presence as friendship.”

Macy grinned. “As much as I don’t want to think about my brother’s sex life, do you have any, ahem, revealing outfits?”

Maggie blushed to her roots. “No. Not like what you’re thinking.”

“Really?” Tara said. “Not even any holdovers from past relationships?”

She picked up another flower and kept her eyes on the jar. “I never had a reason to wear any of that stuff.”

Silence greeted her admission. She chanced a glance at the others. They all stared at her, dumbfounded.

“Are you saying you’ve never—” Macy flipped a hand in the air, “had relations?”

Her face had to be beet red. Maggie could feel it flaming. “Yes. That’s what I’m saying.”

“Well, that changes things a bit.” London said.

“Oh my God, I don’t want to have this conversation.”

“I had no idea you were still a virgin,” Tara said. “How did that happen?”

Maggie shrugged, still refusing to look at them. “I never met anyone more interesting than my books.”

“My brother, who would rather be alone on a mountain or reading than go out and party, is more interesting than your books?”

Declan’s easy smile and witty comebacks floated through her mind. “Well, yeah.”

Macy shook her head. “Bookworms.”

The others chuckled.

“I think it’s great,” Rayna said. “And I think you’re suited for each other. You bring him out of his shell a bit, and he has that seriousness you need.”

Face still flaming, she looked up. “Yeah, well, tell him that.”

“Oh, I will,” Macy stated.

Maggie sighed. She appreciated the support, but having Macy and the others interfere in what was between her and Declan wasn’t a great idea. “Thank you, but I can handle Declan.”

“Can I take you lingerie shopping?” Tara asked. A naughty smile spread over her face.

“I can buy my own lingerie.”

“Oh, come on. It’ll be fun. We could all go.”

“And when were you proposing we do this? You’re getting married in three days, then going on a honeymoon.”

Tara bit her lip. “Good point.” Her face brightened. “I’ll just give you pointers on what to look for instead.”

Maggie laughed and held up her hands. “I think I can figure out what to buy.” If she even went. They weren’t anywhere near that stage yet. They might never be.
