“If you play your cards right, Jax…”
He wiggled his eyebrows, and in that moment, he knew there would never be another woman for him. Aly was laid back, funny, and…well, she was hot.
There was something alluring about her.
She drank her wine, and she’d done exactly like he was hoping. Russians kicked just about everything back—unless it was hot like coffee.
When she felt something touch her lip, she stared into her cup.
“God! I hope that wasn’t a bug,” she said.
He laughed.
When she stuck her fingers into the half a mug of wine, she fished out the object.
Her eyes went huge.
Why?
It was a gorgeous ruby ring with two white amethysts framing each side. The emerald cut was stunning.
“What the hell?”
That was his cue.
“Marry me.”
She stared at him.
Oh, he’d talked about it, and he mentioned it, but she didn’t think he’d actually propose.
It had been a pipe dream.
Jax continued.
“You’re the love of my life, and I’ll never, ever find someone like you, Alyona. You make me smile, you make me happy, and you are my soulmate.”
Her heart skipped in her chest.
“Jax.”
He took the ring from her hand and held it.
“It’s your choice. You have to learn to trust me,” he said. “You have to make the decision to be Alyona Hawk.”
That made her think about what Greyson had said to her.
She stopped being afraid.
Instead, she smiled.
“I’m in.”
He blinked.
“Really?”
She nodded.
