With a smile, Ian reassured him. That was his job as his partner and lover. The bottom line was he knew Gryphen would do the same for him.
“No, because I am not interested in anyone else but you, and I know what it’s like to feel jealousy. If you were around a man that I perceived as someone who could take you from me, I’d be worried too.”
He listened.
“For the record, if I see you flirting with him, or anyone, I’m going to get mean,” he offered, soothing the savage beast.
Gryphen knew that would never happen. Ian was his type. Sleek, smart, and a professional man—all of the things Gryphen wasn’t.
“Instead of carrying this fear, you came to me, and now I can adjust. I’ll avoid him so you feel secure.”
That was all it took.
Instantly, Gryphen relaxed.
“Thank you for that, Ian. It means so much to me that you didn’t get angry and run away from me.”
Ian kissed him softly on the lips.
“Thank you for trusting me enough to talk to me about it. That’s all I want between us. We’ll be good if we keep open communication, and no secrets. Secrets destroy a relationship.”
He happened to agree with him.
“I love you,” Gryphen said. “I love you, Ian Patterson, and I’m glad I found you.”
Ian smiled.
Oh, he knew exactly how much he was cherished and loved. That was what made him happiest.
“And I love you, Gryphen Carter, and I’m the luckiest man in the world. Are you feeling any better?” he asked.
He actually was.
Gryphen nodded.
“Much.”
It appeared they navigated their first obstacle as a couple, and instead of a fight, they’d worked it out with just a discussion.
The possessive monster deep in him was at bay.
For now.
“That was easy,” Gryphen said. “We didn’t have to fight or fuck it out.”
Ian sighed.
“Disappointing, I know. I really was looking forward to the latter. I’ll start a disagreement later when we get back to the bedroom to make up for it.”
Gryphen stared at him, and just shook his head.
“Please don’t change that about you. I never want you to stop thinking about sex all of the time. Pick lots of fights in the bedroom. I insist.”
They both laughed.
Then, Ian leaned over and whispered something in his ear. It made Gryphen’s eyes go wide at what he was saying to him.
“Holy shit. You’re a dirty boy. I dig that even more. Skip the fights. Just open with that.”
