“See?” he said, as if proving a point. “Hard. That’s some hot shit there, Marine. Oohrah. I’ll buy the tools, and you build the things. We’ll commiserate with hot sex right afterward.”
That worked for Gryphen.
Only, they had to get home alive first.
Getting them on the road, Gryphen navigated the snow with the current visibility. Honestly, it wasn’t too bad. It was just that it snowed plenty while they were in the church, and didn’t realize it.
It was slowing down, which made it easier to see.
Now, the roads, they were not fun. Only, Gryphen pretended they were fine, so Ian didn’t have a stroke.
The last thing that he wanted was him worrying about them was getting stuck.
They didn’t have the kind of gear to hike back up to the castle.
At the halfway point, it was already six. It took an hour to get there. It looked as if his plans of a horseback ride into the snow to use up some time before dinner was out of the question.
Yeah, at this rate, they would never be back in time for dinner. That was the kilt reveal, and he wanted Ian to have that more.
Tomorrow, they’d go riding.
As they hit the last two miles up the road, it was six thirty, and the terrain was slow. Eventually, Mother Nature was on their side, and they reached the gate. As soon as they approached the monstrosity, it slid open.
And they were back.
“We’ll park, and we’ll head in. I had planned something special, but that took way too long to get up here.”
He was curious.
“What did you plan?” he asked.
Gryphen shared.
“Want to watch the sun set with me tomorrow?” he asked, wanting to surprise him with the horse part then.
Ian grinned.
Well, that sounded romantic as hell, and of course, he wanted to do that with Gryphen.
He wasn’t crazy.
Gryphen explained.
“This morning, when I was heading out to cut the wood, Graham told me there is a lookout not far away and through the trees. He mentioned that you can watch the sun set in the West, and rise in the East from the same place. It’s a unique spot.”
That was all he had to hear.
“SOLD.”
Gryphen was glad that the man wanted to do this with him. It was something he wanted to share with him.
Pulling into the garage, they were met by Graham.
“I was just coming to find you.”
Gryphen explained.
“The roads suck. It looks like we’re in until tomorrow afternoon. There’s no way it’s going to be passible in the morning.”
