Gryphen was honest.
“Ian, you’re amazing. How you care so much about someone who died a long time ago…?”
He did care.
If it was his story, he’d want someone to take the time to tell it. He’d want the world to know who he was, who he loved, and what happened to him.
It mattered.
“She’s trying to tell us something. I can feel it in my bones.”
Gryphen wasn’t going to argue.
“Okay, Baby. Let’s pack up so Alfie can lock up, and we’ll go back to the castle. I have some fun planned for the evening.”
Honestly, he couldn’t wait to see what Gryphen had planned.
“There’s time to work on your mystery.”
Oh, there was.
“Tomorrow, I want to go to the pub. I can go alone if you don’t want to join me because of the booze,” he said, knowing Gryphen didn’t drink.
The man laughed.
And laughed.
And laughed.
“Oh, that is NEVER happening. The day I leave you alone in a pub, in a foreign country, is the day I pack up my Marine tags, and call it a life. I’m not entirely crazy quite yet, Mr. Patterson.”
“I feel like you’re telling me I can’t go unless you’re with me.”
That was EXACTLY what he was saying.
“Does that bossiness make you want to make out with me?” he asked, curiously. “Or tell me to shut up?”
“Will you be tying me to the bed to keep me from going there, or will you be a plain old dick about it?”
He snorted.
“I mean, if you’re also up for a rousing game of ‘tie up the sexy man’, that’s always going to be option A. If you try to sneak away, I’m definitely going with option B.”
“Well, you can tie me up and have your wicked way with me anytime, Gryphen. I’m game. In fact, I insist.”
Yeah, that intrigued Gryphen.
He didn’t think the man was joking.
It was going on his list of things to do with his sexy bedmate.
“Just obey, Ian, and we’ll not have to have a fight.”
As he said the words, Gryphen’s body reacted to the idea of that obedience. He loved a mailable Ian in bed. He loved how he trusted him to give him maximum pleasure each and every time.
This was his sweet spot when it came to sex, and he was living for it.
Putting the books away, they took off the gloves they’d borrowed, and headed out. Alfie was just coming their way.
