Ian explained.
“You think you’re not smart, but that’s because no one took the time to teach you. We are products of our environment. Had you been given the same advantages that I had, you would be equally intelligent. Our environments form us, over what we are biologically.”
He understood.
“Are you sure you want to take a risk…?” he began, not sure if that was a good idea.
“Yes. Always, yes. It’ll be your sperm, and we’ll find a mother we both like. I’d love if our babies had the same genetics in case something ever happened. So we’ll pick one great woman, and we’ll go from there.”
Gryphen grinned.
When he did, it stole Ian’s breath.
“God. Our baby better have that dimple in his chin.” Ian said. “That’s all I’m saying.”
His intent was to give him a quick kiss, but it was anything but. It was a heated tangle of tongues. It turned them both on, raising the heat in the room.
When Gryphen finally broke the kiss, he stared into Ian’s baby blue eyes.
“Thank you.”
He reassured him.
“No, Gryph. Thank you for coming into my life. Not only am I going to have someone who loves me, but when we go home, we’ll start our life. AFTER Will goes to the chair.”
Gryphen understood that.
There was no way he’d want his children or spouse to be in danger. The only good thing was Ian sat in an office, and he’d be safe once Will was locked up.
Gryphen was a soldier.
He’d take the risk.
“Let’s get through this book. I have something planned for us tonight,” Gryphen admitted.
That surprised his partner.
Ian lifted a brow.
“What?” he asked.
Oh, there was no way he was telling him.
“Don’t you worry. You just work on your mystery, and I’ll plan the next part of our adventure.”
That worked for Ian.
As he got to work, Gryphen thought about buying Graham some time to get everything set up.
They ate later here, and he was going to have to distract Ian for a couple of hours.
And he knew exactly what would do it.
He had the plan ready to go.
And now, he just needed the scene to be set.
