They both laughed.

Yeah, he was right.

“Well, then, I have to keep going.”

Truthfully, Gryphen was glad he was having a good time with it. That was all that mattered to him. It was Ian’s vacation, and he’d been through hell as of late. This was a nice change.

The man was distracted, and not by a nutjob who wanted him dead.

Later, he’d really distract him.

Bet.

On.

It.

“Okay, so we know that she likely got bitchy because he dumped her ass. I’m with Ceit on this one. He knocked her up, and then, he left after a fight of some kind. He went off to defend Scotland, and she had a change of heart.”

Gryphen sat beside him.

“That had to be one hell of a fight,” he said. “Because I know if you and I argued, I wouldn’t be asking you for a divorce, especially if you carried my child.”

He stared at him.

“I don’t think we have to worry about that one,” he joked. “Sadly, I’m barren. My doctor told me my ovaries are dried up and on the outside of my body,” he said, joking.

Only, the minute Gryphen thought about a baby or children with this man, it did something to him.

He felt butterflies in his belly, and that fear of letting children die wasn’t there. He felt like he could protect a child of theirs.

He wanted to.

Jesus.

Did his biological clock just turn on, and did he want to have kids?

Oh, Hell.

This was something he and Ian really needed to discuss. The man had told him he wanted the whole white picket fence dream, and now, Gryphen did too.

So, he went there.

“Well, since your ovaries have switched to team testicles, how about we take the route of surrogacy or adoption?” he asked.

Ian dropped his pen.

For a full ten seconds, he stared at Gryphen not sure he’d heard the man right.

Was he joking?

Because he’d been being silly knowing they’d likely never have kids. He was well aware of what happened to Gryphen, and his fear of letting a child die on his watch.

Now, he needed to know.

“I’m sorry, pardon? What are you saying?” he asked, his heart beginning to pick up in his chest at the idea that the man he loved was talking a family.

A man who had told him he wouldn’t be able to have one because of what chased him.
