He wasn’t exaggerating.

Seeing the time on the clock in the square, Gryphen pointed toward the man’s next stop.

“I think the kilt shop is opening. Shall we?” he asked.

HELL.

YEAH.

Oh, and for a couple of reasons. He wanted to get Gryphen away from that jeweler’s shop, and he wanted to see the man in a kilt.

Gryphen held out his hand, and together, they crossed the square and went inside. Once there, an older gentleman appeared.

“Welcome,” he said, his brogue thick. “What can I get for ya, Laddies?”

Ian shared.

“We’re here vacationing, and we would like to get kilts to take home with us.”

“For our wedding,” Gryphen added, wanting the man to have the full picture.

Why?

Gryphen was only going to be so patient. He was going to give Ian until they got home, and if he hadn’t proposed by then, he was taking matters into his own hands.

As in he was carrying him to the courthouse on his freaking shoulder.

Yes, he told him to ask, but then, he realized that maybe Ian wanted the memory of him getting down on one knee and asking too.

His mate was a romantic at heart, and that would matter, so he’d make it happen.

He wanted to.

The older man smiled.

“Oh, that is lovely. Do you have a pattern you wish to have on ya wedding day?”

They knew he meant the tartan.

Ian pointed at Gryphen’s face.

“We’d like something that matches his eyes. They are the most beautiful blue I’ve ever seen in my life, and they match his uniform. Can you make that happen?”

The older man moved closer.

“Let me see ya eyes, Lad,” he said, his accent punctuating the words.

Gryphen stared at him.

That was all the older man needed.

“Aye, I have something that will match his eyes perfectly. I need to measure both of you, and then, you can pick the accessories.”

He led them to where extenders were, and pins. Some were silver, some were gold, but all of them were gorgeously crafted.

“You’ll need a Ghillie shirt, a sporran, a waist coat, and a fly plaid. If it’s for your wedding, you should each have a brooch to hold the fly plaid. Maybe pick one out for each other as a gift.”

That sounded perfect. That was exactly what they both wanted to do.
