“MY. WIFE. SAID. THE. MAN. IS. CRANKY. HE. IS. A. RICHARD.”
Well, it appeared that Trey was with them, and hadn’t popped back to the other side of the country—or however they traveled.
“Well, I might know why,” Lucian said. “His wife died two years ago of breast cancer, and since then, he’s got a sketchy record.”
They all felt bad for him. Losing their wives…that would be hard.
Only, something else had all of their attention.
“What do you mean a ‘sketchy record’,” Ridge asked. He wanted to know what they were up against.
“He’s had multiple complaints about him,” he said. “I think we all know where this information came from,” he admitted.
Oh, they knew.
Tori’s bestie had given them some access to her computer system, so that they had a little leverage. She also did it so they stopped calling her.
Elizabeth was super busy now that she was carrying the weight of the FBI and her division.
“Let’s keep it on the DL. We don’t need a Fed cranky with us for spreading that information around,” Ridge admitted.
He was right.
They didn’t.
The only one there who really investigated was curious about what they found.
“What are the complaints?” Raven asked as he played with the beads wrapped around his wrist. He and Bexley were likely going to be doing some investigation to back Tori up.
And he didn’t mind.
When he’d been sleeping, and his woman appeared in his dream, calling for him, he’d been game to get the hell on a plane and get there.
Bex needed him, and he was going no matter what.
At his question, Lucian shared what they had.
“Well, he’s been reprimanded for his attitude toward women, and some female cops have reached out to the FBI and DOJ about his behavior being ignored. Someone is a liability.”
Ridge was curious.
“What did he do to them?” he asked.
Lucian was blunt.
“Well, let’s just say that he’s not exactly a feminist. He had three other partners, and all women. They requested new partners and have filed suits against him—or are about to.”
“And his current partner?” Bodhi asked.
“He’s been with this partner for about one month,” Lucian admitted.
Oh, boy.
“Well, I feel so much better that my woman is there,” Raven said. “An asshole man with a history of being a dick toward women. How could this go wrong with him holding them? Can anyone say lying about evidence and ruining lives?” he suggested.
Yeah, they felt the same.
Lucian knew that a dirty cop would cross that line, so he wasn’t shocked.
