“Pryce is running more employment ads, and as a side note, she found a paper in Boston that is in the red. She and I are going to think about buying it together.”

Julian lifted a brow.

“More assets, Lucian? Did you inform your wife about that? Wasn’t she just warning you about buying any more shit?”

He laughed.

Yeah, that sounded like Bishop. Only, he couldn’t help it. He liked flustering her. Lucian wished he was in Utah when they landed, and she found out that he’d booked her the penthouse suite.

She got feisty, and that got him all hot and bothered. There was nothing sexier than watching his badass cop be a mother, and scold him.

He liked it.

He liked it a lot.

“I can’t help it. I like businesses and I cannot lie,” he joked, singing it.

The radio spun.

“I. LIKE. BOOTY. MYSELF. SPEAKING. OF. WHICH... I. MISS. BISHOP. SHE. LETS. ME. PUSH. THE. SIREN. BUTTONS. IN. HER. DETECTIVE. VEHICLE.”

They all stared at the radio.

“WHAT?” Lucian asked. “Did he just say something about my wife’s ass?”

Julian didn’t go there.

The dead were like children.

Ill-behaved.

Children.

“Pretend you don’t hear him. It’s best for your sanity,” he admitted.

Ridge kept going.

For Trey’s sake.

“Beckett is working from home on a divorce case with Claire. She won’t let him come into work while ‘she who shall not be mentioned’ is anywhere in the building—her words, not mine.”

Julian shook his head.

“Poor Beckett. He’s going to stop tolerating Claire’s nonsense at some point. The man would never cheat on Claire, and she needs to figure that out. Beck isn’t the issue. Claire and Lianna are.”

Lucian had already given him the solution.

“Again, put them in a room and have Connor babysit them. He’ll be able to pull them off of each other if they go for the jugular.”

He might have to.

It might come down to them or the company, and he’d worked damn hard to make this business prosper.

Ridge continued for Lucian.

“Mattie is with her husband in Boston. She’s dealing with a stolen painting from the museum there. She’s about done with it.”

Good.
