Last on their short list was Bill Stevenson, the bartender and boyfriend to Keri. Again, it was suspicious as hell that they had a general location where three women worked, and four if you counted Jennie Smithson.
Hella odd.
So now as he stewed in the room, it was time to get down and dirty.
“Let’s break him.”
The three women went in, Lucian right beside them. He’d planned on going back to the hotel, but he’d been needed. He had just enough time to get into his suit, and play attorney.
As they stood there, Cyrus exploded.
“I didn’t attack the woman who was brought to the hospital!”
They all looked over at Genesis, who simply gave a small nod.
He wasn’t lying.
Okay, well, then their suspect list stood.
Someone was killing people.
It had to be to take this man down.
“We appreciate you coming in,” Genesis offered. “What we’d like to know is if you were having an affair, or in this case, multiple affairs behind your wife’s back?”
He went red.
“I’m innocent.”
The human lie detector disagreed.
“Yeah, that’s a lie,” she said, not even holding back. “You were sleeping with Keri Hester, Aimee Lucas, Tiff Dunmore, Marny Goodman, and Brooklyn Ashe.”
He didn’t say anything.
Genesis laid it out, since this was her turf, and her precinct.
“Here’s what I think,” she said, getting ready to go there. “Things got out of hand, and you…”
He objected.
“I didn’t kill anyone.”
They let Genesis handle this.
She was the lie detector.
“So you didn’t kill Keri Hester?”
He stared at her.
“No.”
Yeah, bullshit.
He did.
“You didn’t kill Aimee Lucas either?” she asked, already knowing he would lie. The man was a lawyer who chased after big money.
