“Well, a lot has happened today. Right now, they are at the hospital.”
Julian gasped.
“Oh, my God. What did she do?” he asked, expecting the worst. “I left her alone to handle the case, and…”
Lucian stopped him.
“She and Bishop saved a woman’s life. They reached her in time, and they brought her back. They are with her at the hospital to talk to her a bit more.”
He calmed down.
“Really?”
They told him about how they got the vision in the static, but in the mirror, Lucian and Ridge caught each other’s eye.
We can tell him if you want.
Ridge shook his head.
This is ours. It will come out soon enough. For now, I want it to just be ours and our business. The wives might want this kept to us.
He agreed there.
“Can we go to the hospital?” Julian asked. “Having to not be here to help Tori was brutal.”
That they could do.
When they began the journey, Lucian was listening to Julian, and talking to Ridge at the same time.
This was a damn handy skill.
I can feel you in my head, Lucian. Are you okay?
He glanced up in the mirror and stared into his eyes.
I told you. I’m bummed we didn’t get to cuddle. I feel robbed. Next time, after a performance like that, I demand a nap longer than fifteen minutes.
Ridge was fine with that.
If the ladies get a pool and patio, I think we deserve a mediation studio with a bed in it for the collapse after. I do love a nap. I like being near you.
There was no hesitation.
Deal. We get a mediation studio. Anything for you.
From beside him, Julian was bracing himself as if they were going to die.
“The weather is shit,” Julian said. “It was a sketchy landing, but the roads are worse.”
Oh, they bet.
Julian needed to know.
“Okay, before my wife tried to sugarcoat this case, I want the truth. How’s it really going?” he asked. “I feel bad I wasn’t here to help her handle it.”
There was nothing to stress.
It was literally one day in, and they had saved a life. That was a win in their book.
