Two Hours Ahead Of Utah
Eight P.M.
Friday
T he work week had been an incredibly long and tedious one. It tested everyone’s patience, and for the first time, made Julian wish that he never even opened the business. On top of that, he was now regretting the bail bond agency.
What began as a way to support his family and make his deceased father proud, was now a thorn in his side.
Truth be told, Julian was just about out of steam, and he knew it was going to be a shitastic weekend to boot. He was going to be playing referee between two people he loved.
His sisters.
Talk about catfights.
Jesus.
Unfortunately for Lianna, she’d inherited her father’s cheater gene and opted to do what he’d done. Granted, his cheating brought them Booth, but you never stabbed a sibling in the back.
Ever.
It was a rule.
Lianna had burned a bridge, and they needed to figure out a way to rebuild it—if it was possible.
On the other hand, Claire had every right to despise their sister, but he was hoping that she’d find it in the goodness of her heart to let it go.
And for the goodness of the business.
The two of them were tearing it apart at the seams, making it damn hard to get anything done.
For Claire, she didn’t see the bottom line. Thanks to their sister’s screwup, she’d found the love of her life.
Beckett Rand.
They’d all gotten a great brother-in-law who was kind, special, and protective of their tribe.
That was a win in his book.
Because of what went down, finding Beck wouldn’t have been possible had she married the man she’d planned on marrying. In fact, she would have been the one who had been abused.
She would have been the one who had been battered.
Fate interceded and gave Claire a blessing that had been wrapped in pain.
They were the best kind because you learned a lesson from them.
A life lesson.
While Claire was still pissed, Julian had to find a way to make her understand that this had been the best-case scenario for her.
She got lucky.
Betrayal hurt, but repeated fists to the body by an angry man were far worse in the long run.
Only, you didn’t convince a scorned woman of much, and he understood her pain. He’d come home to find his fiancée in bed with another man.
IN.
