Calling up Bexley and Raven, they did a search, and found the woman’s home address.

So they headed there.

Once there, they pulled into the driveway, and checked it out. It was a smaller house, but it was cute. Someone clearly loved it, and took care of it.

“Okay, Coral Titus lives here. She called in the report, so let’s see what we can find out about her friend, Aimee.”

They got out, and Tori let the two cops lead. They had the badges, and she was going to just listen.

The snow was coming down, and there was someone definitely home.

At the knock, the door opened, and a pretty woman stood there, smiling.

“Yes?”

They pulled their badges.

“It’s regarding the disappearance of Aimee,” Genesis said, keeping it neutral.

She blinked.

“Oh, you found her? When can I see her?”

Yeah, she wouldn’t want that. That was something nightmares were made of in their world. A civilian would never sleep again.

Skin slippage was no joke.

“Actually, she’s deceased.”

That hit hard.

“Oh,” Coral said, blinking as tears filled her eyes at the news. Then, it hit her. “She was the body they pulled from the water near the ski trails, wasn’t she?”

Genesis nodded.

“Yes.”

She took a deep breath.

“Well, come in,” she said. “Can I interest you in some coffee or tea? I just made some.”

“Yes, please,” Bishop said, still jonesing for some heavy duty caffeination.

She needed it.

Desperately.

Once inside, they took a seat in the cheery living room, and Coral carried in a tray with mugs of coffee. As the ladies made their coffees up, Coral sat down.

“How did she die?” she asked, finally.

“She was suffocated and then dumped into the water. We know you guys worked together…”

She nodded.

“Did she suffer?”

Genesis didn’t lie.
