“Tori, I can go do the interviews at the courthouse by myself,” Genesis offered, seeing the men were in pretty bad shape.

Tori stopped her.

“No, I’ll go with you. We’ll leave Bishop here. We’ll swing back and pick her up before we head to the crime scene. When they go down like this, it’s only an hour before they are up again.”

She took their words for it.

This was all kinds of weird to her.

“I’ll stay,” Bethany offered, “in case Lucian or Ridge need you to come back. I can come get you then.”

“Thank you, Bethany,” Tori said, and then, she told them what their dead was planning to do.

Lucian appreciated that.

“Thank you, Bethany,” Lucian said. “Stick with Ridge. He needs a nap. He’s going to have a headache for the rest of today.”

The man laughed sardonically as he was slowly recovering. Now, he had the chills.

Next would be recharging in sleep.

“Going to? How about currently have the mother of all headaches?” he asked.

They all knew what was coming.

“Help me get him to his bed,” Tori said as Genesis did just that. “He’s going to be sleeping shortly.”

Ridge struggled to his feet.

“My wife is going to be calling,” he said, tossing Bishop his phone. “Don’t let her worry.”

Oh, she wouldn’t.

The women stabilized him and helped him get to the spare room in the penthouse.

It didn’t take them long.

When they came back, Bishop had this under control. She wanted to make sure her husband was okay too.

“I’ll be ready when you’re here to pick me up. Have Bethany let me know when you’re downstairs. You take Trey.”

Tori laughed.

“Oh, gee. Thanks. I love taking Trey. He’s always so well behaved,” she added sarcastically.

Her brother wasn’t having it.

“I’m not feeling the love, Victoria,” Trey said. “You know, you could try a little harder to be nice to me.”

She just shook her head.

“Sorry. The dead,” she offered so she didn’t have to replay what he was saying. Now, he was flipping her off and it was the most big brother thing he did.

Before they headed out, she gave Lucian a kiss on the temple.

“You’re lucky your wife knows you love her, or this could have been a bloodbath for both of you,” she teased. “I would have lost my nut.”

He laughed.
