Avalon Carter was the one psychic that could turn the world upside down with her gift.
And she missed her.
Don’t get her wrong, she loved helping the Littlemoons, but they had been a family before they remade their family.
Now, they were doing another kind of work, and it was just as important.
“I see,” Genesis said.
They weren’t sure if she did or not.
“Anyway, he goes in and tries to find answers. We’ll go talk to the boyfriend and see if he knows anything.”
That worked for Genesis.
She was grateful to be working with the ladies. There was no doubt they were competent. This was exactly how she’d work a case.
As they walked across the hotel, they headed in. The hostess was standing there, getting ready for the lunch crowd.
They weren’t messing around.
Genesis pulled her badge.
“I need to talk to Bill Stevenson. Is there any way you can let us know if he’s here?”
She looked worried.
“Uh, did he do something?”
She shook her head, and pulled up the information on her phone.
“He called in a missing person report for Keri Hester. She was a dancer across the lobby at the gentleman’s club. We need to follow up on the cold case.”
That seemed to calm her down.
“Oh, okay. He’s at the bar. Head on back.”
As they were walking, Genesis gave them the heads-up on the whole situation.
“The third woman who disappeared also worked here with them.”
Tori came to a stop and looked over at her.
“Really?”
She nodded.
“You have two victims in the same building, and the bartender connects to at least two of them?” she asked. “And Jon Wilkes never thought that was something odd that he should look into?”
She nodded.
“Apparently, not.”
Well, that was someone dropping the ball.
Big-time.
Yeah, this was likely not a coincidence.
