She looked over at Genesis.

“You want in on this bet?” she asked before she told them the plan.

“Uh, hell, yeah. I haven’t talked to him, but I’d love to.”

She handed them cash.

“I’m going guilty.”

Tori went the other way.

“I’m saying frame job. It’s too easy. He’s a pretty boy married to a rich woman whose daddy is a lawyer. He’s not getting his hands dirty. He’s not killing anyone. I’m going with someone who was jealous is trying to take him out.”

The bet was made.

“As for finding out, we need to get you to talk to him,” Tori said. “If you’re a walking lie detector, you’ll know if he’s lying.”

It was Genesis’ turn to laugh.

“IF we can talk to him. He’s a lawyer, and a prominent one with a judge father-in-law. I already know how this is going to go. I’m going to try, and he’s going to say talk to my lawyer.”

Tori would work on that.

They had to get Genesis in the same room with the man. She could read him.

That would be a good time.

“Give me time. I’ll figure it out,” she said, knowing that was exactly what she’d do.

Where there was a will, a Littlemoon would find a way. This cop could bet on it.

“Want to go talk to the boyfriend?” she asked. “It’s lunchtime, and then, we can go upstairs and check on the team before we head out.”

Bishop was good with that.

“Lucian was going into the static to look for something we could use.”

Tori hoped he found it.

“Again, you’ve mentioned the static. What’s that?” Genesis asked. “You guys are going to have to help me with your lingo. I’m not up to speed yet.”

That they could do.

Bishop tried to explain the best she could. It wasn’t an easy explanation by any means.

“It’s like a collective of voices. They are all over the world—mostly psychics who need help. My husband can walk in that static and hear them. Ridge is his tuner.”

Tori continued for her.

“There are lots of different kinds of psychics, and Lucian is the strongest one we know.”

Bishop said nothing.

Why?

There was one that was stronger.

Oracle.
