“I’m sorry,” she said. “That sucks. Robbery?” she asked.
She only nodded.
“You could say that. Someone was kidnapped and I was hurt.”
And it had destroyed a family of people, scattering them all over the place.
It wasn’t often she thought of Avalon or Nate, but here she was, doing just that. They’d had a family before. It had been Maura and Luke, Jagger and Roxy, plus Oracle and Nate. Now, they were a bunch of new families.
Maybe fate knew what it was doing.
As they reached the stage, they took seats at an empty table, and all the ones around them were filled with men.
Horny men.
Yeah, if you’d been in one club, you’ve been in them all.
“Bishop, get her to come here. Spend some money,” Tori said. “We can comp it from petty cash when we get back.”
Well, if that was what she wanted.
“Don’t tell my husband,” she said, pulling out a crisp one-hundred-dollar bill and waving it like a woman who wanted a stripper all over her.
It took ten seconds.
The stripper saw it.
Then, she headed her way.
All the beading, fringe, and pasties swirled in the lights. When she stopped at the table, the woman smiled.
“I don’t swing that way, Ladies. I suggest Diamond. She likes petting kitty. I’m all about being a carnivore. I like big meat.”
Yeah, Julian would be kicking her ass if he was here to see this.
Why?
She would have made him wave that bill in the air.
God.
She was having fun.
Way.
Too.
Much.
“We just need to talk,” Genesis said, touching her arm to get her attention.
“Do I get to keep the money?” she asked.
Bishop nodded.
That got them what they wanted.
The woman shrugged.
