“If you can catch her off guard, then go for it, Jules.”

This was why he loved these two men. They weren’t just his best friends. They were his non-blood brothers.

Julian felt better.

He knew they’d understand.

“I just want to surprise her. She’s always hearing about Elizabeth’s sexcapades, and I know she wonders why I’m not spontaneous like Callen, Ethan, or Chris.”

Well, they understood that.

“Then, burgle the babe,” Lucian said. “Tori is stupid in love with you, Jules. She smiles when you call. You’re still safe. Life gets in the way. If you have a moment, take it. Like me. I’m about to get up close and personal with Ridge.”

The man laughed.

“Oh, well, lucky me,” Ridge said, winking at his friend. “I know he’ll be thinking about that lady he sleeps with and not me. I feel cheap.”

Lucian snorted.

“You had better believe it. My wife is also hella lethal, so…”

He snorted.

Yeah, these were his brothers too.

Julian appreciated them so damn much that he’d be lost without them.

Now that they’d settled that…

“So this cop is a good hire then? It’s not that I don’t trust my wife, but I don’t trust my wife.”

Lucian was amused.

“She’s a good one. If Tori says she’s like Hart, take it and run with it. She stood up to her boss, and she’s an honorable cop. You’ll like her. We do.”

He trusted both men.

If they liked her, he would too.

Now that they’d handled that, Julian could focus on other things.

“I’ll see you guys later. I’m flying commercial, so I’ll be out of communication. If you need me, text. I’ll check between flights.”

They would.

“See you then,” Lucian said.

“Fly safe,” Ridge added.

Then, the call went dead.

Ridge was curious. As he took off his shirt, and got ready to go into the static with Lucian, he had to know what they were possibly dealing with before it went bad.

“Do you think our new employee has something to hide?” he asked.

Lucian wasn’t sure.

“She’s more than just a walking lie detector. It feels like she’s got walls all around her. I don’t know what’s protecting her, but something is. Maybe we should go into the static about that first,” he suggested.
