Wasn’t that the truth?

She actually laughed.

“No, I’m not easily rattled. Instead, I’ll be honest. I’ve researched you. I’m aware of your specialty, and I happen to believe that the dead can communicate with us. Now, if you break out a Ouija Board, then, I might get twitchy. I don’t need demons haunting my ride.”

Tori didn’t know what to think of this.

Normally, the cops made them work for it, but this one was pretty open.

“This actually might be the first,” she said. “All the cops we’ve crossed paths with were weirded out. Everhart, Booth, Vivian, and…”

And that’s when she figured it out.

There was only one reason a person wasn’t freaked out by the dead—if they saw or heard them personally.

“You’re psychic, aren’t you?” she asked, curiously.

Genesis shrugged.

“I like to think of it as having a heightened sixth sense. I’m good at reading a room, and my gut has saved my ass more than a few times. If you think that’s psychic, then yes, I am. If you think it’s just a honed cop sense, then no.”

Interesting.

Tori would be lying if she said her curiosity wasn’t piqued. Genesis was unique.

She’d never sensed another psychic like this before.

“Is it my turn to ask the questions?” Genesis asked as she drove them through the snow-covered streets.

“Sure,” Tori said, wanting to know more.

She went there.

“So the talking on the radio. What’s his deal?” she inquired.

The dial spun as Trey tried to search for his name, but wasn’t having any success. Scanning all the frequencies for that word…

It wasn’t an easy one, thus, Richard.

Tori could hear him since her doors were open, so she helped her frustrated spirit guide out. Since he was being spoken to, she didn’t consider that him breaking their deal.

“He’s my dead brother, Trey. He’s an interesting character, and my spirit guide. Well, one of them.”

The radio spun.

“I. AM. YOUR. BABYSITTER. SPROUT. CALL. IT. WHAT. IT. IS. I. ALSO. LIKE. FOLLOWING. BISHOP. SHE. IS. A. WILD. CARD. SHE. WILL. LEAVE. HER. HUSBAND. FOR. ME. ONE. DAY,” he joked.

Bishop snorted.

“Don’t count on that, Trey. Have you seen my husband? He’s hot.”

The dial went crazy.

Bishop was honest.

“And I know he has you guys babysitting me too,” Bishop admitted.

Trey was horrible at keeping secrets.
