Because Julian had his doors open, he heard the dead warning him of round two.

Claire had arrived.

When he looked over at his siblings, he warned them all about what was about to go down.

“She’s here,” he said. “Come sit over here,” he offered Lianna, patting the chair closest to him. It was mostly to keep her safe if Claire launched herself across the table to get her twin.

Yeah, it had happened a few days ago, and Connor had to save Lianna.

She did as he asked, and when she sat, there was a knock on the door.

Julian braced for it.

“Come in, Claire.”

When she came in, Beckett was right behind her, and their faces were neutral.

Claire glanced over at her other brothers. The whole family was here.

Well, that was for the best.

It was time.

“I’m glad we’re all here for this.”

Julian didn’t say anything.

Why?

He was watching the most dangerous Littlemoon in the room—Claire.

“Be nice, Claire,” Connor whispered, knowing she’d hear him.

Claire didn’t need advice. She stared at her sister. It was clear that she’d been crying. Well, this was a difficult thing to come back from.

“I don’t need your advice, Connor,” she said. “Since we’re all here, Beckett is my backup.”

“This will not be a war,” Julian warned. “I will not have my company torn to shreds. I will close it and walk away before I let anyone destroy it, Claire. Be cognizant of that. All of our families rely on this company. Keep that in mind, please.”

Oh, she would.

“Then, let’s talk,” she said, dropping her purse on the table.

Julian waited for the explosion.

As Claire walked around the table, she stopped behind Lianna, and the woman flinched, expecting to be hit.

Instead, she turned the chair so that they were facing each other.

“Thank you,” Claire said.

Everyone looked at her not expecting those words to come from her mouth. No one was more shocked than Julian.

“Uh, what?” Julian asked, befuddled.

Instead of answering, she went to her knees and stared into her twin’s eyes.
