That was interesting.
“Uh, handy?” she asked.
The phone came alive.
“ARE. YOU. AFRAID. OF. THE. DEAD?” Trey asked.
Not missing a beat, she answered him.
“No, it’s the living you have to worry about. People are assholes more or less. The dead really can’t hurt you.”
She wasn’t wrong, but she wasn’t right. You hadn’t lived until you saw a pissed off Bethany going shit nuts on someone.
Or that Bodhi’s dead mother committed homicide to avenge her death.
That was horror movie worthy.
“Okay, tell me about the victims,” Tori said as Lucian pulled a notebook out of his briefcase for her to write the information down. While he had the information from Julian, he knew how the man’s wife worked.
Bishop was the same.
The cop did just that.
“Back in the summer, three women went missing. One was a stripper. You mentioned her name. Keri Hester.”
She wrote it down.
They’d all need to divide and conquer to work this case. Bexley and Raven would be doing interviews too and they would keep Hailey and Bodhi’s schedule open.
Hailey had a wedding to plan.
Since Bodhi was here, that was going to be their mission. She wasn’t letting their wedding plans fall apart to work jack shit. She knew how much had gone into this.
Besides, Bodhi would have a stroke.
He needed to marry his girl.
“Okay, Keri is the first?”
She pulled up her phone and asked for an email so that she could send them to her.
“It’s [email protected],” she offered. “That’s the one on our business cards. That’s how we’re contacted when the woo-woo gets to be too much for people.”
The woman just stared at her.
“What?” Tori asked.
She shook her head.
“You’re weird. I have no clue if you’re being legitimately serious or yanking my chain.”
Tori laughed.
“I’m being legit, and you have no idea.”
Wasn’t that the truth?
Before she could say anything, Trey chimed in.
