Page 91 of Icy Cold Death

Someone was in trouble.

Yeah, her spirit guide was back from her little mission, and the fun was about to begin.

Tori would bet on it.

Slowly, she opened the one door that would give Bethany access. The hospital was behind the precinct, and the dead…

They were everywhere.

Tori didn’t want to be overwhelmed, so she kept it isolated to just her.

When the door opened, she saw Bethany sitting on the table in front of her. The camera was on, so she wasn’t going to give anything away. That meant no talking to her.

When Bethany saw her focused on her, she knew Tori could see her.

“Be careful. He’s watching from behind the glass,” Bethany said, warning her.

She slowly nodded, trying to acknowledge she understood what she was saying.

Bethany gave her more good news.

“Lucian is on his way. Stall him. They will be here soon. He’s bringing backup because Julian knows you’re likely pissed off.”

Oh, she was.

Since Tori was the only one who could see her, she simply nodded again.

“Boy, I hope our attorney gets here,” she said, clueing Bishop in on who was coming. “When he does, he’s going to tear this place apart.”

Tori hoped the detective was panicking and thinking they called him. She wanted this handled.

NOW.

Bethany shared.

“Ridge is with him. Julian had to stay behind to deal with his sisters, but he sent Bodhi and Raven with them to help out.”

Of course he did.

God.

She loved her husband.

As soon as she got her phone back, she was texting him. He was getting a big kiss when she saw him.

As for backup, Tori didn’t mind. She and Bishop were going to make sure they owned this city’s police department when this was over.

Oh, not the actual one.

This case.

She was going to make the old cop weep when she was finished with him. He’d crossed a big line.

You didn’t violate a person’s rights.

EVER.

That was how you ended up on the nightly news.
