Because she had a death wish, Tori went to go make a call to her friend. Elizabeth had friends in high places, and if the man didn’t show up himself, they needed backup.
Federal backup.
The man’s father-in-law was a state supreme court judge. The only thing that trumped that was a federal warrant for his son-in-law’s arrest.
“Let’s get this done,” Bishop said.
Because they might just solve this because of a woman who was banging Cyrus behind her girlfriend’s back, Genesis took Brooklyn out, screaming.
Lordy, but the woman had some lungs on her.
Because they had a moment, and he’d yet to talk privately with his wife, Lucian took his wife’s arm and needed a conversation.
“We need to talk.”
“About?” she asked, already knowing. While they’d been standing there, Ridge had gravitated toward Lucian. They both looked stressed until they connected.
He just stared at her.
Finally, he went there.
“About what happened with Ridge and me in the static, Bish, and what’s going to happen going forward.”
Well, she figured this would be happening at some point.
“Okay, Lucian. I’m available.”
Since they had time until this all blew up, she followed him to the chapel.
It was ironic that this was the place he chose to talk about his sexual romp with his best friend in the static. That wasn’t lost on her.
Honestly, Bishop wasn’t so sure that she wanted to know. She’d watched, and there had been no sign that they’d been having sex, and for that, she was grateful.
Inside, he sat in a pew, and Bishop sat beside him.
“Are you okay?” he asked, going there.
She nodded and glanced over.
“Yeah, I’m good. Are you?” she asked, worried more about him than her.
“I’m good. I got us the woman’s name so that’s a win for us. You saved her. You did good, Bish.”
Bishop knew this was NOT what he wanted to talk about, so she went there.
“How was it? Was it what you expected?” she asked. “You know, having sex with someone other than me?”
He was honest.
“It wasn’t nearly as awkward as it is now. Go figure,” he stated.
She laughed.
That said it all.
“Sorry. I guess it’s not my business. I probably shouldn’t ask.”
Yeah, he didn’t like her tone.
