Well, this sucked.
Only, how did they lie?
“We’re sorry, Jennie. She is.”
The woman cried even harder.
Tori tried to reassure her.
“We need your help. We can help you work through this later, but we have to figure out what happened. Did you see who did this to you?” she asked.
The woman shook her head.
“No, I didn’t. It was someone strong who was behind me. Why would she cheat on me? I’ve been with her for a while.”
That was a good question.
Why did anyone cheat?
Only one person could answer that. That would be the one who did the deed with Cyrus.
Or in this case, a lot of someones.
As the ambulance pulled up, they knew they were going to have to wait to give her answers and get her answers. It was time to get her checked out.
“The EMTs are going to take you to the hospital to see if you have frostbite or any injuries. We’ll meet you there,” Genesis offered. “We’ll get you through this.”
The woman nodded.
“Thank you for saving me.”
Tori squeezed her hand and then took back her coat as the EMTs loaded her up.
“We’ll see you there, okay?” she said, her brain going a mile a minute.
This case…it didn’t make sense.
The pale woman nodded, and as she was loaded into the back of the vehicle, they knew a few things.
They had to get to the bottom of this.
Because now…
This was a shitmess.

Dress Time
Saturday
Early Evening
W hen Hailey looked at her watch, she could see that her friends should be showing up any second, and she was so stinking excited. It was time to pick out her dress, and get ready to dazzle Bodhi.
That was the best part.
