“Marny was a virgin. She was going to be marrying this great guy, but she hooked up with some asshole. After, she got sick.”
Genesis was betting she knew with what.
“Herpes?”
She nodded.
“She tried to keep her fiancé from finding out, but he did. When he did, he got so angry. She never told him who she was sleeping with, but we all knew.”
“What’s her fiancé’s name?” she asked, reading her shirt name tag. “Lesia?”
She blew her nose.
“Giles Felton is…was her fiancé. I don’t know the guy she was hooking up with. She never told us his name. She only called him Mr. L. She said he was exciting, and experienced in bed.”
Boy, was he ever.
This woman didn’t know the half of it.
“So she was being romanced by him?” Genesis asked.
She nodded.
“Marny was swept off her feet. Then, when she got sick, she told him, apparently. She told us she did, and guess what he did?”
“Blew her off?” Tori asked.
“He laughed. He said whores got sick. That it was a game, and she was too easy. She earned it.”
Wow.
That was…really disgusting behavior.
“What does Giles do for a living?”
She pointed at the steakhouse.
“He’s the head chef there. When he found out she was cheating on him and he got Herpes from her, he broke it off, and he couldn’t even look at her. Marny was just trying to live. She wanted to experience it all, and she got swept up in it.”
On that, they agreed.
“Is he at work?” Tori asked.
She shook her head.
“No. Once we found out, one of our other concierges went over and told him what happened. Word spread fast.”
They’d have to make a note to talk to him.
If their significant others had a side piece, that would piss them off too.
Well, if Genesis had one. She was on a solo ride through life.
“And no one knew who she was shacking up with?”
Lesia leaned forward.
“We think a guest. She’d take her lunch break, and go upstairs. On her days off, she told us she was going camping. That’s not something she ever did before meeting him. She even started dressing differently.”
