When pressed, she asked how this happened, and apparently, she was meeting a guy she was sleeping with, and someone came up behind her and suffocated her.

Well, that sounded familiar.

It appeared that this was going to be connected to Cyrus and the first four missing women.

As Detective Manning headed her way, Tori was trying to keep a low profile. Not for her.

No.

She liked stirring the pot, and the homicide captain wasn’t far away. Joseph Ivy was watching her, and she was trying to behave for Genesis’ sake.

The woman was already wearing a bullseye, and the deal was they could work this until Genesis was done with the case. If she got fired, or suspended, that meant they were done.

A deal was a deal.

As her new employee headed her way, Tori was ready to give her what she could.

“Well, the ME took the plastic bag off of her head. She’s not decayed.”

“It’s not Jessamy Lawley. It’s a woman by the name of Marny Goodman. She was suffocated with a bag from behind as she was heading here to hook up with her sugar daddy, Cyrus.”

She sighed.

“I also have bad news. I knew her.”

The woman stared at her.

“Uh now is a good time to explain that sentence,” Genesis suggested.

“She checked us in last night. She likely was killed after she got off from work.”

Well, that was better. That technically wasn’t ‘knew her’, but came across her path. It was one more victim at the hotel.

Interesting.

That was a pattern.

Genesis lowered her voice.

“Uh, is she here?”

Tori nodded.

“She was meeting him for some camping after work. Sound familiar?” she asked.

“Oh, boy.”

Tori was aware.

“The good news is that this helps you get a shot at him,” Tori said. “With four women tied to him, and his wife missing, you’ll get to bring him in for interview. The bad news is that’s going to be a shitshow.”

She was aware.

“I need more to pull him in. I can’t say ‘the dead women said they were hooking up with him’. I need proof of that.”

Oh, she was aware, but the day was still young.

Tori pulled out her phone and went to Marny’s social media page. On it, there were pictures of her dancing and having a good time.
