That was the main thing that she missed about this side of the country and the mountains. They didn’t come back often, simply because Julian thought about his mother, and how she’d died out here.

The same was true for London.

Sometimes, you couldn’t come home, so Tori was going to live vicariously this weekend through this moment.

Tori enjoyed being in the woods, skiing, and having the time of her life with the women she loved, and there was nowhere she’d rather be.

This sisterhood…it was healing.

These women were her friends, her family, and her co-workers. It didn’t get any better than this. The only way she could make this a weekend to remember was if her bestie could show up, but that wasn’t happening.

A little part of her was thinking about her husband too.

While she missed Julian, honestly, she didn’t want to be at home.

The world was exploding there.

The family was having one hell of a battle, and she wanted nothing to do with it.

She was NOT getting in the middle of the waring Littlemoon tribe. That was an immediate shitstorm that would have ramifications.

This was all about the ladies.

No one was taking sides in this.

Everyone was trying to be Switzerland.

It put them all in the middle of one hell of a mess that appeared to be destroying relationships.

Years ago, when Claire was in the Navy, Lianna had stolen Claire’s boyfriend away, and she’d married him. It had been a fuck and run—as in they had sex, and the man wanted to have more access to that kind of fun. A soldier wasn’t home enough for him.

That put a wedge between the sisters and was now coming back to bite them all in the ass.

Back then, the brothers had warned Lianna not to do her own sister dirty, but she still did.
