The women looked at each other. They knew she worked in an office, but for the DA?
That set off warning bells for all three women.
“And the man suspected in this now is a lawyer who likely had court cases there?” Genesis asked.
He nodded.
Well, that definitely was an interesting find. It was looking more and more to be tied to the lawyer. At every turn, something was linked to him.
The stripper.
The restaurant where the waitress worked.
Now a legal office that he’d likely go to at some point.
This was definitely not looking good for him, or for the detective who had dropped the ball months ago. Jon Wilkes really screwed the pooch on this one.
This wouldn’t have been a cold case if he actually did his job.
Now, it looked as if they were heading to the courthouse to figure this one out. Everything seemed to be tying itself to the man.
“That’s suspicious,” Bishop said.
Yeah, it really was.
The cops in the room, and the ex-Fed, knew that where there was smoke, there was absolutely fire. Only, again, Tori was sticking with the bet she made.
This was way too easy.
It was suspicious.
“We’ll take that interview next,” Tori said. “We’re just checking in, and if you take the waitress’s co-workers, we can cover this without bothering Hailey and Bodhi. We’re already going to make him look at rotting bodies at some point. We owe him for that.”
Their witch was amused.
“Lucky him,” Raven said, laughing. “And on his wedding planning weekend.”
Yeah, again, that’s why they owed him.
Speaking of the other two people.
“What are they up to?” Tori asked.
She had to be cognizant that they had to get back to go wedding dress hunting with the woman. The boutique made an appointment for them, and they couldn’t let Bodhi take her.
That would be wrong.
They had promised Hailey, and they wouldn’t let her down on this one.
This was all about work and fun balance.
Bexley was grinning.
“Last we heard, Bodhi was having room service sent to the room for a midday picnic. Whether they will be naked at the time…take your chances. I’d definitely knock first.”
She snorted.
“Pass. How about we don’t risk it?” Tori said. “We can let them have their picnic. The last thing I want is to kill that weekend mojo for the man.”
