Inside, on the table, there were some things for her.

“Holy shit! What is this?” she asked, seeing the massive bouquet of red roses.

They played dumb.

“Got us,” Tori said, enjoying the look on her face.

Bexley picked up the card.

Tori was giddy herself as she played along because the fun was about to reveal itself.

“Huh,” Bex said, looking at the card.

That had Hailey’s attention.

“What?”

She shared.

“That’s weird. This card has your name on it.”

She was so confused.

After Bexley handed it to her, she opened it, and inside, was a picture of Bodhi, Holly, and Hailey sitting together in the park. Pryce had gotten the shot when Hailey didn’t know it was happening.

Immediately, her heart thumped.

She smiled.

“God. He’s so handsome. I could stare at him all day long. I think it’s those eyes.”

Tori grinned.

Yeah, someone had it bad.

Oh, the dead had made a good match when they pushed these two together.

They were crazy about each other.

“Flip it over,” Tori suggested.

When she did, on the back, there was a handwritten message for the woman holding it.

“Read it.”

She did.

‘My dearest love,

I want you to know that you being away this weekend is so difficult for me. I love having you in our bed, cuddled against me, and watching cartoons with Holly on a Saturday morning. I really miss you, but I had to let you go.’

She looked over.

“I don’t understand. What did he mean by that last part?” she asked.

They urged her on.

“Just keep reading.”
