It was the one she’d written and that had the sexy man on the cover. She’d created him in her mind, only to meet him in real life. Talk about a manifestation of some sweaty dreams.
He was real.
Raven.
Her sexy witch.
“Can we have your autograph?” the one woman asked, trying to get past Bishop, who was not letting that happen easily.
She laughed.
“Sure,” she said, taking the pen and book, and signing it in the front. “It’s okay, Bish. I don’t mind,” she said, really not bothered by it.
This happened a lot when she left home.
This gaggle of women were a spectacle, but this was normal for her.
In fact, at the airport, a group of mothers practically carried Bexley away to get her signature. Bishop had to threaten to arrest them for author abduction in the first degree—much to their amusement.
Part of her world was that she couldn’t go anywhere without being recognized.
Thankfully, her friends, and Raven, were all good with that.
The bottom line for them was that Bex was the most down-to-earth famous author, next to Callen Whitefox.
When Bishop finally managed to shoo away the women, she shook her head.
“They’re lucky I don’t carry my gun,” she said, making Tori laugh. “I might get shoot-y.”
They all knew the truth.
“If you could have gotten it on the plane, Bish…,” Tori began, only to have the woman point at her.
She didn’t have to say a word.
Bishop was like a less violent version of Elizabeth Blackhawk, her bestie.
Since the woman wasn’t amused, she changed the subject.
“Ready to check-in?” Tori asked.
All of the women were. This had been one hell of a mission, and that Hailey didn’t know what was coming…
They deserved Academy Awards.
“I want to go skiing,” Bexley said, keeping the ruse going. “I love it, and haven’t done it in a while. Can we fit that in?”
The woman between them was befuddled.
“At night?” Hailey asked. “Is that really a thing?”
The ladies all laughed.
Oh, it was.
“The trails have lights,” Tori offered. “We’ll do the easy trail since you’re pregnant,” she added, wanting to do a little outdoor fun herself.
It was stuffy in the resort with all the dead milling around. Once they realized she could see and hear them…it was about to get spicy.
