And I’m really fucking glad I get more time with them.

“Can’t sleep, love?” Bishop yawns, and I turn my head to face him.

“I’m uncomfortable,” I admit.

He nods and drags the armchair closer until his knees hit the edge of the bed. “We’ll see when we can take you home. We don’t have a doctor on staff right now, but we can find someone to come to the compound and monitor you so you can sleep in your own bed.”

I smile. “Thank you.”

“No, thank you, Cami. Crew told us what you did. How you broke your thumb. How you held your head high and did everything you could to come back to us. You’ll never know how much that means to us.”

“Couldn’t let you all keep having all the fun without me.” I half laugh but wince as pain shoots through my torso.

Concern fills his gaze as he reaches for the button that controls my pain medication and presses it. “Let yourself heal, Camilla. We’ll take care of you.”

Tears well in my eyes, and his thumbs swipe them away as soon as they fall. “I love you.”

“I love you too, Cami,” he murmurs.

The next time I wake up, my mind feels less foggy and my body aches a little less. I mean, don’t get me wrong, my torso hurts like a motherfucker, but some of the aches and pains I had from when we were being held have faded.

Crew is now sitting in the armchair Bishop slept in, while Kaos and Bishop are on the couch which they’ve dragged to the edge of the bed, and Kovu is in the same position except now his wild blue eyes are open and locked on mine as soon as they open.

“Hey, Little Lamb,” he murmurs.

“Hey, big guy.” I smile down at him. I can’t imagine how hard all of this has been for him, and I have a feeling I’m going to have a giant shadow for a while once I get out of here.

“We can take you home later today,” Bishop tells me. “We have the Thornes personal doctor coming to work for us while you recover. Wyatt has done a million checks and he’s clean, so we won’t have another Rogers situation on our hands.”

Crew growls at the sound of his name, but I force myself to remain calm. If I tense up too much, it hurts, and I have enough pain without adding anymore to the party.

“That’s the best news ever.” I grin. “Is the compound okay after the ambush? Is it safe to go back there?”

“It is, and we’ll go back there while you recover, but we actually wanted to talk to you about something.” Bishop brushes his fingers down my arm, and my body calms at having another one of my men touching me.

“Oh?” My brows pull together. “You’re not breaking up with me, are you?”

“Fuck no,” Kovu growls, and I brush my fingers through his hair to calm him down while my other hand remains useless and covered in bandages. Just when I thought I’d seen the back of a cast, and here I am with another one.

Crew shakes his head and takes my bandaged hand in his. “No, Little Menace. You’re stuck with us for the long haul. But we wanted to discuss us all moving into the estate. It doesn’t have to be immediate or anything, but it’s probably a better place to raise kids than the compound is.”

My eyes widen as I look around the room at each of them and find smug smiles on their lips instead of stress at the thought of children.

“We talked about this, Princess.” Kaos chuckles. “We want you pregnant as soon as possible. We want you swollen with our babies and to have kids running rings around us. We want a life with you, a family.”

I blink away the tears that threaten to fall against my cheeks. “The compound is purposefully built for the Syndicate though, and what will the other families think? We have to consider everything before we jump into anything.” The argument is flat because, if I’m honest, everything they’re describing is exactly what I want. That’s something I realized while I was fighting for my life. I don’t just want to have kids to have an heir. I don’t just want to have a husband to provide me with that. I don’t just want to be a Mafia queen.

I want to live my life surrounded by love and happiness and laughter.

Of course there will still be bloodshed and bullets, and everything else that comes with loving four of the most ruthless men in the country, as well as leading a crime family, but that doesn’t mean we can’t carve out our own little happy life.

“That’s something else we wanted to talk to you about. We’ve made some decisions, but we want to run them past you before we take them to the other families, because this is your legacy, and we don’t want to do anything you’re not comfortable with,” Crew starts, and he shifts closer.

I have no idea what he’s about to say, but I have a feeling it’s going to change everything.
