She sighed at the feel of his hand roaming her body. “Yours.”

“Yes, beautiful. Mine.”

Brianne knew this was a turning point. She had so many emotions coursing through her but the biggest was fear. Fear that he might not be feeling as deeply as she was. But the way he looked at her with complete adoration and possession melted her to the core. She had developed deep feelings for Reid in a short amount of time. Did he feel the same? His eyes and the way he held her screamed yes, but could he love her? Did he want forever with her? Because she was envisioning a future that only Reid could make a reality.

Reid watched Brianne sleep. She’d come apart in his arms multiple times and he loved every second of it. Still, he couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that despite their intimacy, despite the connection they’d forged, Brianne was still holding back. In bed, he saw her fully embrace her emotions and their connection. It was when the real world came crashing back that she seemed to pull away. It was time for him to show his mate that she was truly the woman for him.

He reached for his phone and dialed the only other woman he cared about aside from Brianne.

“Mother? It’s Reid. How do you feel about breakfast?”

He made plans with his mother and then slid into bed and pulled Brianne into his arms. She curled into him, her lips brushing his neck and a soft moan escaped her. He thought about keeping her in bed and waking her in a more fun way, but he’d already made the plans with his mother. So instead, he kissed her awake. He caressed her soft naked body and felt himself harden at the feel of her warm curves.

“If you don’t wake up soon, we’ll have to postpone our adventure.”

Brianne’s lids cracked open and her blue eyes stared at him unfocused. “What adventure?”

He grinned and kissed her again, pressing her into the mattress and loving the way her body cradled his. “A special adventure I have for us.”

She blinked repeatedly and licked her lips. “For us?”

“Yeah. Are you ready to get up and check it out?”

She groaned, wrapping her legs around his waist. He sucked in a breath. “Brianne. We’re going to be late.”

Need burned in her blue eyes and a naughty smile spread over her lips. “So?”

“As much as I want to stay in bed with you, I don’t think my mother will understand us being late for breakfast.”

Her eyes widened and she unwrapped herself from him. “Your mother?”

He chuckled. “Yeah.”

“Reid, I don’t have any clothes to meet your mother with,” she complained. “I have to go to my place and get some clothes.”

He shook his head and placed a finger over her lips. “What kind of man do you think I am, beautiful? I’ve got a closet full of clothes for you in my guest room. It’s all yours. Pick whatever you want to wear.”

Brianne’s eyebrows shot up. “Wait. So I heard that right? Adventure? What happened to waiting for Jake’s update?”

“Jake will call if anything urgent comes up,” Reid said. “In the meantime, I think it’s time you met someone else important to me.”

Understanding dawned on Brianne’s face. “So breakfast with your mom, huh?”
