realizing she was in a place full of people who loved and cared about her. She could barely look

around the room and not see someone she knew. She wasn’t alone anymore.

She smiled. “Yeah. I’m good.”

Ethan beamed at her and motioned toward the dance floor in the middle of the crowded lobby.

Opposite the stage, Chase and Richard stood near a table, talking to a man she recognized as the

mayor of Boston.

Chase saw her and Ethan as they made their way toward him and his face broke into a broad

smile. He said something to Richard and hurried in her direction.

He wrapped his arms around her. “You look beautiful.”

“Did you dry okay?” she asked, running her hand over his shirt.

He nodded. “I used the dryers in the bathroom.” He glanced at Ethan. “Thanks, man. You can relax

and enjoy the evening.”

Ethan nodded with a smile and headed over to where Jayson was talking with Micah and Scott.

Chase put his arm around her shoulders and led her back in the direction he’d come from.

Richard gave her an affectionate look when they arrived and kissed her cheek. “You were

spectacular, Sabrina.”

Sabrina gave a happy sigh. My Master is pleased. “Thank you, Richard.”

“Sabrina, I—”

Before he could finish, a crowd of people surged around her, wanting to meet and congratulate her

on her performance. Sabrina was bewildered that Chase seemed to know everyone, introducing them

by name and occupation. Those few he didn’t know, Richard did. Chase’s arm around her waist kept

her from drowning as she spent the next twenty minutes shaking hands and kissing cheeks.

At long last, the crowd subsided and Sabrina could breathe again.

“You did very well,” Chase said, tipping her chin up to kiss her. “I’m so proud of you.”

“I don’t think I could have done it if you weren’t right next to me.”

“I will always be right next to you.” His gray eyes filled with affection and love, and she let out a

happy sigh.

She turned to see Grace hurrying over, Kathy right behind her. Grace hugged her hard. “Oh,
