day, staring at the wall with terror in her eyes.

Good.

His phone vibrated in his pocket and he pulled it out. “Alex?”

“I’m going to Russia.” He sounded out of breath.

Chase stared. “What?”

“Russia. St. Petersburg. To see Peter and Vlad. Devin has been acting weird.”

Chase frowned. “Doesn’t he always?” He’d been lost in Anna’s memories for years.

“More than usual. He told Peter he had information on Sabrina’s disappearance.”

“What? How does he know about Sabrina?”

“Your guess is as good as mine. He is being a stubborn ass though. I am hoping if he talks to Anna

and myself, he might . . . soften.”

Chase gave a mirthless laugh.

“Any lead is worth chasing at this point, my friend.”

Chase nodded, then realized Alex couldn’t see his nod. “Yeah. Okay. Well, let me know what

happens.”

“I will be in touch. Call me if anything changes.”

“You, too.”

“Of course.”

Chase shoved his phone into his coat pocket and turned to search for Lance. His friend emerged

from the nearby tree line and jogged over. “You okay?”

“Alex is going to St. Petersburg. Devin might have information on Sabrina.”

“Isn’t he locked in a tower? How the hell would he know what’s going on?”

Chase sighed. “The supernatural realm makes less sense the more I deal with it. Alex wouldn’t go

unless it was legit.”

“True.”

A surge of hope threatened to swell in his chest. How else could Devin know what’s going on?

He’d been locked in that tower for a decade. How could he have even heard of Sabrina? Unless . . .

“Maybe she reached out to him . . . ? But how? How would she even know about him?” He stared at

Lance and then shook his head. “I’m so confused.”

“Well, it’s something. More than we had before.”
