Damian gave a congenial smile and walked up to Ted’s desk. “Are you sure, Ted? We could do

great things together.” He kept his voice low. Unfortunately, with the way things were these days, he

couldn’t have Sabrina do this initial work. The Elders were immune. He had to break the immunity

before she could do anything.

Ted stepped away and backed into Lewis.

Damian nodded to Lewis, who grasped Ted’s arms and held him tight. Lewis wasn’t a large man,

but his loyalty to Damian ensured he had enough strength to do what he needed to do.

Ted fought Lewis but it did no good. Damian placed his hand on the Elder’s head and closed his

eyes. Ted grunted and his knees gave out. Lewis led him into his chair before he collapsed.

Damian stepped back and studied the man. He was primed. “Sabrina.”

Sabrina moved across the room and settled into Ted’s lap and kissed him, working her magic.

Within a few minutes, she’d led him onto the couch and Damian watched as she brought him under her

spell.

“Lewis,” Damian said, not taking his eyes off Ted. “Ready me to bring him under my control.”

Lewis dropped to his knees in front of Damian and reached for his pants.

“Hello, Brandon.”

Brandon Seay, the Elder of Los Angeles, looked up from his desk inside his Manor, a startled

look on his face. “What—how the hell did you get in here?”

“Do you know me?”

“You’re Damian Sinclair.” The Elder pressed his lips together.

Damian smiled and glanced at Sabrina and Neil, who both glowed with Immortalness.

“How did you get in here?” Brandon asked again, leaning back in his chair.

“I am the Chairman, Brandon. I can go anywhere.”

Uncertainty flickered across his face for a split second before lifting his chin. “I’m not interested

in your offer, Damian. I have no interest in returning the country to how it was under Devin.”

Damian frowned. “I was hoping you and Lewis had more productive discussions than that.”

“He tried to convince me of your . . . goals, but I simply cannot agree to them.”

Damian gave a wicked smile. “That is unfortunate.” He nodded to Sabrina, who walked over to

stand next to Brandon. “I suppose we’ll have to do it the hard way, then.”

The Elder laughed. “You do realize I’m immune to her seductions, right?”
