“You control her mind. If you tell her what to do, she’ll listen. Besides that, she doesn’t do much.”
Damian’s eyebrows raised. “Really?”
Lia nodded. “She’ll do anything you ask.”
He shook his head and knew he’d have to address that eventually, but turned back to his sister.
“So why am I going to Boston?”

CHASE’ S PHONE RANG TUESDAY AFTERNOON AS HE WAS WALKING TOWARD THE BANK CEO’ S OFFICE.
“Jayson? What’s wrong?”
“I found out who Lia’s brother is.”
He frowned at the tone of his best friend’s voice. “Who?”
“Damian Sinclair.”
Chase froze mid-step and stumbled forward. “What did you say?”
“Damian Sinclair.”
Chase’s mind spun. How was that possible? He’d spent quite a bit of time with Lia in the last few
months and she was a great girl. Jayson had fallen completely for her. How could she have such a
bastard for a brother?
He supposed it was possible for one sibling to be wonderful and another to be a complete
asshole.
“Is it possible we misjudged him?” Jayson asked. “Lia really loves her brother.”
Chase sighed. Damian had claimed he’d been controlled. Maybe Chase was being
overprotective? “I don’t know. Have you seen him?”
“No. We’re going out tonight.”
Chase didn’t know what to say. His gut told him to stay away from Damian. But this new
information shed a different light on him. “Be careful.”
“I will. You coming for poker tomorrow?”
“Yup.”
“Lia suggested inviting Damian so I could get to know him better.”
“Okay.” They said goodbye and Chase shoved his phone in his pocket as he continued down the
hallway. What the hell was going on? Something didn’t feel right, but he couldn’t pinpoint exactly
what it was.
