Ethan nodded. “He was pretty exhausted when he got here this afternoon.”

“I don’t know how he’d react to our relationship.”

“I know.”

The idea of Ethan not sleeping with him and Sabrina didn’t sit well with Chase, even though

Ethan said he was fine with it. That Chase’s safety was more important than their sex life, but he’d

gotten used to Ethan being with them at night.

“You’re going to have to sneak up here every once in a while,” Chase said.

“You really think I could sneak around and not get caught by Lance?”

Chase ran his hands over his hair. “I don’t like this.”

Ethan leaned forward and kissed him on the mouth. “I want you safe. We’ll figure things out.”

“It’s done.”

Damian smiled. “When?”

“Last night. We went out to dinner and I did it when we went to the bathroom together.”

“How did she react?”

“She said her head was hurting. Chase took her home after.”

“You’re certain it’s done?”

“She started seeing your face when I asked about you. I did as you taught me.”

“Good girl.”

Lia didn’t respond.

“I need you to come home this weekend. I need you at the Gathering.”

“Yes, Damian.” Her voice trembled. “What do I tell Jayson?”

Damian smiled. “Tell him your brother is coming into town long term for business and you need to

help him move.”

“You’re coming here?”

“Is that a problem?”

“Of course not.” Her voice trembled, betraying her nerves.

“Don’t worry. I won’t use you. I have Sydney for that.”

“She’s still alive?”

“She is. And completely under my control. She won’t remember anything that happened to her

here.”
