“I do,” Chase said. “With all my heart.”

Sabrina’s heartbeat sped up as Chase vowed to care for her in a manner worthy of a demi-

Immortal. That he would honor her, love her, and protect her. That he would use her gifts only for

good and not for his own gain.

“Daughter, do you accept this man’s vows?” Theo asked after he helped her to her feet.

“I do.”

“Do you willingly submit yourself to his authority over you?”

“Yes.”

“Will you give yourself to him completely?”

“Yes, of course.”

Sabrina, you must completely release yourself into his care, Theo said inside her head.

Why wouldn’t I?

Do you remember what your Master did to you the other night?

Sabrina’s chest grew cold as she remembered the torture and pain. He’s going to do that to me?

Not like that, but he must partake of your essence as part of the ritual.

Will it hurt?

Has he ever hurt you?

No.

His desires are pure. He will not take what you are not willing to give. Are you willing?

Sabrina swallowed and looked at Chase. She trusted him. I am. But I don’t know how.

I will guide you.

She exhaled deeply and nodded. I will give myself completely to him.

Chase looked between Sabrina and Theo. They weren’t speaking, but he had a feeling they were

communicating as only Immortals could. She grew pale for a moment, but nodded and her color

returned.

Theo gave an approving nod and led Sabrina over to the stone table. It was time.

He knew what came next. Alex had told him. But he felt awkward doing it in front of all these

people. He supposed he should be thankful the entire Boston Brotherhood wasn’t in the room.

Theo helped Sabrina lay back on the table, feet drawn up to her hips. The sheer skirt of her dress

kept the position modest, for the moment. A little bit.
