“That’s fast.”
Chase shrugged. “I think it’s the best way to keep Sabrina safe.”
Jayson narrowed his eyes. “What really happened last night?” He was too smart to hide anything

“We think the guy who’s after Sabrina had something to do with it. So by us getting married
sooner rather than later, I can protect her better. But you can’t tell anyone. It’s going to be very small
and needs to be kept secret. You can’t tell anyone. Not the dancers or your parents. Not even Lia.”
Jayson searched his eyes again, worry filling his own. He looked at Sabrina, toward the kitchen
where Ethan stood, then back at Chase. “Don’t you think someone should watch your back as much as
Ethan watches Sabrina’s?”
Ethan chuckled and crossed his arms. “I was thinking the same thing.”
Chase frowned. “I can take care of myself.”
Jayson’s brow arched.
“I’m fine,” Chase said, jutting out his chin. “What would have helped me last night?”
“What if he’s not subtle the next time?” Ethan asked, moving closer.
Chase grimaced. “You call last night subtle?”
“I mean, what if he comes at you full front?” Ethan stood behind Jayson, his hands on his hips.
“What if he sends someone to assassinate you?”
Chase opened his mouth to protest but stopped when he heard Sabrina’s soft voice.
“I want you to be safe.” She grabbed his hand.
He sighed. He couldn’t fight all of them. “I’ll think about it.” He didn’t want to talk about this
anymore. “Don’t you have a performance to get ready for?”
“In a little bit,” Sabrina said, curling up next to him and resting her head on his chest.
He wrapped his arms around her, his irritation melting away.
Ethan chuckled and headed toward his bedroom.
“Does this mean we can’t have a bachelor party?” Jayson asked, moving to the easy chair. “Since
everything’s a secret?”
