“My Daughters, please come and stand before me,” Kronos said and Chase’s heart broke as
Sabrina obeyed.
Richard moved closer and they watched Sabrina climb the steps to stand before Kronos. “What’s
he going to do?” Chase whispered to Richard.
“I don’t know.” Richard put his hand on his shoulder.
Sabrina stood next to Anna on the platform, wondering what would happen. Her mind spun, trying to
process everything. She was freed from Damian, yes, but also from Chase. Her heart yearned for the
connection they’d shared.
Anna squeezed her hand. “It will be all right, Sabrina,” she whispered.
Kronos stepped in front of the demi-Immortals. “You have served the Elders with all that you
have, Daughters. If you are willing, I will take you to my home and you will be free.” One by one,
Kronos kissed their heads and spoke with each of them. When they answered, he put his hand on their
heads and they disappeared. Anna and Sabrina were last.
“What would you do, Anna?” Kronos asked in a gentle voice. “You may come and live with me
and be freed from the human world.”
Anna turned and looked at Alex, who stood at the base of the platform watching her with intense
blue eyes. Sabrina could see the longing in his eyes for her and looked at Chase, who stood in
between Alex and Richard. He had the same expression on his face and her heart ached for him.
“What if I wanted to stay here?” Anna asked softly.
Kronos gave a sad smile. “I will not force you to come with me, but you cannot stay as a half-
Immortal.”
Sabrina’s eyes widened as she turned back to Kronos. “You’d take our Immortalness?” she asked,
hope in her voice.
Kronos nodded.
“Will it change us?” Anna asked.
Kronos smiled. “You are still you. Both of you are more human than Immortal,” he said with a
low laugh. “But I will not leave you vulnerable here. You will be wholly human. Or you come with
me and be as you are now. Humans can be in the Immortal place. I will not allow Immortals here with
the humans any longer.”
