“You are freed from your Master, Daughter,” Kronos said with a smile. “I will free you from your
other Master as well.”
Sabrina felt a rush of energy and a pinch as Kronos set his hands on Sabrina’s and Chase’s heads
again. She grunted as something snapped in her mind. Chase did the same.
She sucked in a breath. It felt clean and fresh and she smiled at Kronos.
Chase kissed her temple. “I never wanted to be your Master, Sabrina.”

KRONOS TURNED AND SLOWLY WALKED TO THE PLATFORM. HE WAVED HIS HAND AND TERRIC’ S BODY
disappeared, along with all bloody traces of sacrifices that had been performed over the last few
days.
He waited under the eagle as the men in attendance made their way to the grass in front of the
platform.
An Immortal approached, half-dragging a man toward Kronos. “I found him, my lord,” the
Immortal said with a bow.
“Thank you, Khyan.”
Sabrina’s head snapped up. “Khyan?” she whispered, trembling.
Khyan looked around and bowed his head as he approached her. “Sabrina. I am sorry for how I
treated you,” he said, his voice low. “I allowed myself to be deceived, but . . .” He clenched his jaw.
“I tried to make things right once I realized what I was doing.”
“Was it you in the fire that night in my condo?” Chase asked.
Khyan nodded. “I pleaded my case with Kronos once Vamar banished me and he allowed me to
return.” He turned to Sabrina. “I am glad you escaped and found your way to safety.”
Sabrina studied his face for a long time. “You are?”
“I did what I could to help. By staying away, you grew stronger and could fight against your
captors.”
Sabrina blinked several times.
“It was the only way, Sabrina. Do not feel guilty. They deserved what you gave them.”
“You are an abomination.” Kronos’ voice caught their attention from the platform. He glared down
at Neil, who huddled at his feet. “Neither human nor Immortal.” He frowned deeply and waved his
hand and Neil disappeared in a cloud of dust.
