Richard laughed. “You’ve been distracted. You should know your men better than that.”

Chase frowned, rebuked. “You’re right.”

Richard sat down across from Chase. “They’re good men, Chase. They wouldn’t let you go into a

fight without them.”

“There’s not much they can do to help. I told Ethan that.”

“There may be more than you think. I don’t know what will happen this weekend, but we will

need every body we can get, supernatural abilities or not.”

“Do you know what they have planned?”

Richard chuckled. “No. They’re good at what they do and even I couldn’t learn anything about it.

“I don’t understand why we can’t be in there while they make plans,” Chase muttered as he paced

the room.

Alex looked up from the ancient tome in his lap. “Because they are Elders and we are not.”

Tommy sighed from the window. “You get used to being left out.”
